The Office of Information Technology is moving UTSA email from a locally-hosted version to the Microsoft Office 365 “cloud.” Applications “in the cloud” are Web-based and are usually managed by the application creator.
By moving email to the cloud, OIT will be able to provide 25GB accounts (an increase from 5GB) to all UTSA staff and faculty members. UTSA email will continue to be accessible via a new Webmail client, which will more closely resemble the desktop version of Outlook and will be packed with more useful features than the current Webmail client.
Changes will need to occur for Mac users and for those who use their smartphone to access UTSA email. More information, including specific instructions will be provided via email.
